On Saturday, June 6, 2020, Black Lives Matter – London Ontario held a peaceful protest in London, ON’s Victoria Park to support our Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities, and our American neighbours who face disproportionate rates of police brutality and systematic racism. The gathering featured speeches and performances from local leaders, activists, and artists. Following, the crowd marched through downtown London, along Richmond Street, Dundas Place, and Wellington Street.

Over 10,000 people showed up, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, to show their support for the protest. Not the first peaceful rally to be held in London, the June 6th event was the largest recorded turnout of any London protest. Donnie Ivey @ Squid Vs Whale Productions and Jason Plant of MC Spirit Studios captured some photos of the day.

Black Lives Matter – London Ontario is hosting a second peaceful protest on Saturday, June 20 from 3 – 6 pm at City Hall. Learn more here.
