It’s all about beer.

London Ontario has been in a loving, committed relationship with beer for a long time now. Going back 170 years to Labatt Brewery‘s grand opening, and continuing today with all of our awesome craft beers, Londoners have always enjoyed a good local beer, especially in the summer. It’s no surprise, then, that there are several events coming up this month to get you out of the house and into the warm summer breeze.

It’s no surprise, then, that there are several events coming up this month to get you out of the house and into the warm summer breeze (and cool beer haze!).

We here at LondonFuse are great beer lovers too. And we don’t want you to miss out on any of these events, so grab a pen and take notes, there’s a lot going down around the city in June!

London Brewing Co-operative has a new craft beer for summer and they’re tapping it on June 9th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Their organic Newdale Barley is grown and malted in Southwestern Ontario, continuing London’s Co-op commitment to be 100% local. And we love them for it!

At the party, you can learn more about craft beers from Mike Driscoll of Harvest Hop and Malt, Ontario’s only certified organic micromaltery. Mike will discuss how malting works, why buying local is important, and the excitement of building your own maltery.

Folks here at LondonFuse had a blast at the Grickle Grass Festival this year! And we can’t wait to go back to the London’s Children Museum for another night of fun.

This time around, you can get your creative juices flowing with collaborative art pieces, pendulum painting, exploding paint balloons and string art. But wait, there’s more! You can create your own shrink art, buttons, and mini-canvas to take home. And yes, there is also a dance floor!

Oh, did we mention Anderson Craft Ale will be taking care of you all through the night? Honestly, there are so many things happening you will want to be there right when doors open at 8pm.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the Children’s Museum.

Is there a more perfect summer pairing than beer and the beach? Can’t you just see yourself strolling down the sand while enjoying a cold brew with the wind in your hair?

Well, that dream can come true! The Grand Bend Optimist Club is hosting this all-day event where you can sample craft beers, (including Railway City Brewing Co.), wine and great food, right on the beach. There will also be live entertainment throughout the day.

Tickets are $20 advance and $25 at the door. Proceeds will go to Optimist Youth Projects and Jessica’s House.

Wow, that was a lot!

There are enough events in London (and beyond!) to keep you busy every weekend in June. And that’s only the beginning of the summer! Stay tuned for more summer lovin’ coverage right here on LondonFuse.ca!
