A little quiet time…

Don’t let the name of this one-woman show fool you, Megan Arnold is the loudest person you’ll ever meet. Don’t believe me? If that’s the case, then you’re correct. She’s soft-spoken and very sweet, just like the name and her music suggests.

Following the super swift street drawing she did for Fuse, we chatted briefly with Megan about her music, life, and of course, Grickle Grass! Catch Shhh this Saturday, you’ll be happy you did.

Why do you play the music you play?

It’s my way of opening up to people without having to have actual conversations.

Grickle Grass is a DIY festival. What is the most DIY thing about you and your music?

I don’t let inexperience/lack of knowledge stop me from doing and making what I want to!

Are there other artists you like to work with?

Haha no, I’m 2 shy!!!!!!!!!!

What is your live music ritual, if you have one?

I practice my set for the first time since the last live show, then pee several times out of nervousness.

What do you do when you’re not playing music?

Visual art is my *main thing* and I’ve been working on two graphic novels (one of them with writer Maverick Summers) for a few years. Check out nihilistdog.tumblr.com to get a taste of just how slowly we work. Also, I sleep for about 10 hours a night.

You can check out more Shhh on Facebook. And while you’re at it, stay up to date on what’s happening and who’s playing at Grickle right here on LondonFuse with ‘Grickle Talks,’ every day leading up to the festival.

Get your tickets right here and we’ll see you on May 27!
