Get ready for FUSE AID – a one-day fundraising extravaganza for LondonFuse

The night will feature a lineup of local musicians, artists and personalities who are all lending their talents to our cause Friday, March 8. The day will consist of two portions – we will be live-streaming segments from Fuse HQ beginning at 2 p.m., leading up to the big show at 8 p.m. at the historic Richmond Tavern.

LondonFuse over the years…

For nearly 10 years now, LondonFuse has worked to promote local arts, culture, music, and heritage in the Forest City and surrounding area, while training the next generation of digital media professionals. That’s why we’re amping up our fundraising efforts to solidify the near future of our programming – all of which we offer at zero cost to anyone interested.

Through our Contributor Program, we have helped numerous volunteers get jobs and achieve their creative goals. We’ve supported countless local acts and artists by promoting their work, and helped local businesses get the recognition they deserve.

This time, we need your help, London.

This is a great city, and each and every day, we share its stories through our publications, and numerous events such as the Bad Art Festival, Page To Stage, and our Live @ Fuse HQ music series.

We don’t plan on stopping any time soon.

So what is FUSE AID?

Good question.

FUSE AID is an evening of fantastic musicians, artists, and local personalities who will host the evening and help animate our cause. Just like our programming, this event is free admission, and open to all who want to attend.

We love music! A lot, a lot. Here we have Fun Fact at our event Bands on Band in 2018. Photo by Ed Phin.

Between bands we will be taking pass-the-hat donations, so you can directly contribute to the future of LondonFuse.

But wait – that’s not all! We will have exciting door prizes and raffle items from amazing local businesses who are eager to help. We couldn’t be more grateful! Stay tuned for lineup announcements, from hosts to musical acts to supporting businesses and the prizes they’ve donated.

Video series? Yes please. Here we have Averages in our very first recording of Live @ Fuse HQ in Spring 2018. Photo by Emily Stewart

Oh! And what is a benefit show without an anthem? Program Director, Gerard Creces, has been hard at work on a special song for the event. It will be (local) star studded.

We’re so proud to be part of the London community and genuinely love documenting the wonderful people and places here in town. Thank you London – we couldn’t do what we do without the incredibly vibrant, supportive, and creative community in which we live.

Did we mention we love putting on events? Like this one, London’s first ever Brunchfest at London Brewing in June 2018. Photo by Emily Stewart

Like most not-for-profits, we have our share of late meetings, 60-hour weeks, and commitments above and beyond our job descriptions. Unlike any other, we have the twin responsibilities of running two publications while making sure the needs of our volunteers are met.

We could do this everyday. Oh wait… Specks at Page to Stage 2018. Photo by Ed Phin

Contrary to some beliefs, this isn’t a pay-to-play situation. Many of our core contributors have been with us for years. That, to us, speaks volumes about the value our programming has. It’s humbling to think that after all this time, they still come out to the meetings, still write/draw/shoot/edit, still create.

We want to make sure they can continue to do so.

So please, lend us your aid – support LondonFuse, and for those who already have over the years, we cannot thank you enough.

You can lend your support right now by visiting our donate page or we’ll see you out Friday March 8, supporting FUSE AID.

Stay tuned for lineup announcements at londonfuse.ca and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
