Idiom: A Photography Study by Echo

Idiom: a phrase or expression that has a figurative meaning. Offering cultural understandings into societal standards, principles and beliefs.
Idiom is a solo photography study by that explores imagery that’s steeped in cultural metaphor and how the human experience can transcend linguistics and geography. The show will focus on phrases or expressions of various cultures that reside here in London, Ontario.

About the Artist:

My name is Echo Gardiner, I’m a 30 something female photographer and artist currently daydreaming out of London, Ontario. I consider myself a mixed media artist both exploring my favourite mediums of photography and painting separately and at times combining both disciplines.

I have a fascination with light and the drama it creates. I like to tell stories and communicate emotions with light and paint. I want to make art and explore life through my messy lens. I’m working on this being vulnerable thing and I want to see if my work can make any connections out there.
