Board of Directors
LondonFuse is a not for profit arts organization located in London, Ontario. Our volunteer board of directors are the backbone of our organization, giving strength to our mission and supporting our contributors’ pursuit to promote arts and culture in London, Ontario and beyond.
Laura Thorne, President and Chair
Laura Thorne is a recovering librarian and current communications professional who brings a depth of experience in research, writing, and marketing to the Board. She is excited to provide leadership and support for LondonFuse so it can continue making London more awesome.
Laura has volunteered as a contributor with Fuse since April 2018 and loves to shine the spotlight on local organizations and businesses through her contributions.
Laura is often found drinking coffee and walking her dog, Winston through Woodfield.
Sammy Orlowski, Vice-President & Editorial Director
Sammy Orlowski first became enamoured of LondonFuse after coming across a random Weekend Guide. She jumped at the chance to become a volunteer contributor, joining the team in November 2015. Since then, she has contributed articles and photos covering subjects from comics to cat shows.
In her day job, Sammy is a producer and editor with web.isod.es, a story studio in London that crafts authentic stories for social and interactive experiences. Sammy also volunteers with committees at Museum London, CrazyTalk, and is a Zine Fiend. In her spare time, Sammy doodles, journals, makes tea lattes, and watches a whole lot of TV. She also loves meeting fellow creative and community-minded folk, so don’t hesitate to find her somewhere on the internet or even in real life and have a chat!
Oshi Rathnayake, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director
Oshi Rathnayake is a non-native Londoner who has marked the Forest City as her home. She got involved with LondonFUSE straight out of University to find a community of creatives and grow as a writer.
She looks to highlight the already existing treasures of this city.
You can find her either picking up a new hobby (scuba diving and martial arts right now) or enjoying silent inspiration at one of our local museums.
Melissa Parker, Fundraising Director
Melissa Parker has been a member of the LondonFuse Board of Directors since September 2019.
Melissa is a fundraising and communications specialist with experience in the not-for-profit, education, health care and finance industries.
Melissa grew up in London and is excited to help LondonFuse create a hub for culture in our wonderful city.
Taylor Holden, Partnerships Director
Taylor Holden is a born and raised, “never lived anywhere else” Londoner. A music maker at heart, she loves all things rock and roll. You’ll find her watching/playing a live show or teaching at London Girls Rock Camp – maybe at the library and always with a warm drink. A lover of vibrant city streets and the protected bike lanes that come with them.
After admiring London Fuse for years, she joined the board as the Partnership Director. She’s passionate about collaborating to create a more inclusive arts community. Let’s be pals! Photo by Will Agnew.
