It’s just about here, London, are you ready for it? Yes, it’s the Good Vibes Only Festival 2017 and it’s going down this Saturday and Sunday in the Forest City. We’re pretty excited about it and why should you be? Several reasons! Several more than this list outlines but we’ve highlighted the absolute doozies.
If you haven’t got your tickets, we suggest you get those now. But just in case you need a few more reasons to do so, read on, we’re confident you’ll be very happy you did!
1 – Live Art.
When was the last time you had the opportunity to watch an artist at work? It has probably been a while.
Therefore, the first reason you should be at Good Vibes Only 2017 is to see the masters at work. Watch artist Kyle Haight of KH8 Design who will be creating and displaying his work during the entirety of the festival. Want to see this illustration, custom mural making, and live painting aficionado at work? Be there.
2 – Local acts
Amongst the 16 bands and DJs that will play on two separate stages over the course of two days, of course we need to send some love to the locals!
A Pair’s 3, Fun Fact, and GypsyGhosts are just some of the London talent you may enjoy while taking in those good vibes. And we must say, if you haven’t seen these bands before, do not miss your chance this time around.
3 – Flow Performers
Not entirely sure what that is? Well go and find out!
The weekend will feature two different performers, Kelly Jean (Plur Fairy) and Ananda Flow who’ll be mesmerizing attendees with every smooth, free, and dynamic movement.
4 – DJ Shub
We gave you the full lowdown earlier this week on this dude and we’ll say it again, go see him, it’ll be a great decision.
Bringing PowWow Step to London on Saturday Nov. 4, DJ Shub mixes modern dance beats with traditional Aboriginal singing and drumming. He promised us that audiences can expect to get really sweaty because they WILL NOT stop dancing the entire time. Yes, please!
5 – Vendors!
Need something local, handmade, and unique? Chances are good, you’ll find what you’re looking for right here.
6 – Art Gallery
Vendors, check. Dancers, check. Sweet music, check. But there’s more!
There will also be an an art gallery present at the festival featuring the work of several artists including Ocelot artworks, Zai Lee P, Art by Brock Springstead, and more! Have you had enough art this week?
7 – To be part of something big…
The Festival, now in its second year, appears to be moving nowhere but up.
Everyone who has attended in the past has nothing but great things to say about the lineup, the audience, and of course, the vibes. We foresee this festival going far, real far. So why not be part of it from the get go?
8 – The full festival experience
You get it all! This doesn’t need much explanation.
We’ve already outlined the many reasons why you should get yourself to Good Vibes Only this weekend and this one sums up all of them. Not only is it the full experience complete with killer music, performers, vendors, and artwork, it’s November and it’ll feel pretty damn good to be in the summer festival state of mind one more time before the snow comes. Amirite?
9 – My Son the Hurricane
This band is blowing up right now and you should knock a My Son The Hurricane concert off your bucket list right now.
This 14-piece brass band from Toronto plays the Festival on Friday night and are sure not to disappoint. They call themselves a “brass fuelled funk and dance beast” so, yeah. You don’t want to miss it.
10 – Because you need more good vibes in your life.
We all do.
And we’ll leave it at this. We’re confident these are more than enough reasons to get yourself to #GVOFest2017 but we’d like to point out that the message of love, acceptance, positivity, and happiness is something we all need. Sometimes we need to be reminded of that too, and this festival does exactly that.
So, London, see you at Rum Runners this Friday and Saturday? Sure thing!
