Osmos, now available through Stream, is an enchanting experience of an alternative existence: one of a jelly-fish-like globe. What I find most inspiring about playing the game is the aural-scape. Having dabbled in ambient music production in the past I find myself entranced and impressed with the game's music. Serene ambient tones and swooshes sensitize you to the myriad of other life floating about the game. Dare I say the game's atmosphere induces a meditative or cogitative state amidst the fight for survival that defines the games mechanics: consume and avoid being consumed. Definitely a stellar example of electronic music's potential impact on indie video game production.
