I often find some of the most visually captivating music videos to be utterly simple yet cohesive in style. In the video for Matta's track Release The Freq, (director) Kim Holm employs simple techniques like filtering, colouring, slow-motion and (subtle) illustration aloft footage of deer standing still or frolicking about. Combined with the raveish sound of Release The Freq, Holm's production methods wonderfully accentuate the primal characteristic of these fairly innocuous but definitely wild animals.
