Ruby Theresa was the first to publicly post these photos taken by a group of creative pranksters at last year's London Pride Parade. The prank then began to gather attention from newspapers and media across the country. Here's Ruby's description of the stunt:
A group of people (Jeffrey Andrus, Rick Telfer, and Andrew Brett) decided to protest the protesters, as you can see in the pictures. Their signs were very minimal, simply saying "LOL!", or "J/K!". There was nothing offensive about their signs and yet they managed to deflect some of the negativity directed at the parade as well as insinuate that "God" does not necessarily share the anti-gay viewpoints of the protesters who take it upon themselves to remind people that they are sinners who are going to hell. Apparently one of the humorous sign holders (Rick Telfer) was kicked by another protester (shown in the 2nd last image). When a police officer was informed of this, they were told that their signs (LOL?/J/K?) enticed the man to commit the assault, and nothing was done. This interaction is quite troubling.

I thought this was very creative at the time, and enjoyed it a lot. But I really hope people won't just reproduce it exactly the way it was. They will likely come back with more numbers with their Neo-Nazi counterpart. Making fun is fun, but there also needs to be a serious and concerted effort to let them know that we won't accept this kind of hater-mongering in our community.
