Back in the beginning of December I was lucky enough to participate in the student protests in London.  They were upset about a change that would remove a cap on tuition fees, making the system in England similar to the US.  The crux of the issue, as I see it, is the commodificaion of education.  The law was unfortunetly passed but it was still very inspiring to be with 50,000 students marching in the streets.  When talking to people during the protest, they all seemed pretty sure the law was going to be passed, which did put a slight damper on the morale.  It made me wonder if protesting like this is the most effective way to stop the neoliberal agenda from consuming everything in its path.  Either way, it was a great way to see the city, no cars, lots of drumming and chanting, I fully recommend it.

This situation must of been a little tense. The beaver pelt joke made me smile.
