Envisioned by art director Willi Dorner, Bodies in Urban Spaces took life back in 1999 "in an effort to produce unique, live performances that encourage the audience to look at the everyday world from a slightly different perspective." Over the course of several years Dorner's Bodies in Urban Spaces has been witnessed in cities across the globe often apart of urban festivals such as (most recently) FuseBox 2009.

“Bodies in urban spaces” is a moving trail, choreographed for a group of dancers. The performers lead the audience through selected parts of public and semi-public spaces. A chain of physical interventions set up very quickly and only existing temporarily, allows the viewer to perceive the same space or place in a new and different way - on the run. The performances should happen in different times of the day according also to the specific situations and conditions of each site. The special quality of each place at various times of the day creates unique presentations. “bodies in urban spaces” is documented by the photographer Lisa Rastl.
