Spring Show and Sale
A record number of artists are participating at the new London Clay Art Centre.

London, ON April 13, 2010 – The London Potters Guild’s Annual Spring Show and Sale will be held at the new London Clay Art Centre, located at 664 Dundas Street, the weekend of April 23rd, 24th and 25th. This sale boasts a record number of potters participating.

The Spring Show and Sale opens on Friday, April 23 at 6pm and many of the artists will be in attendance. The show continues Saturday and Sunday with wheel-throwing demonstrations and hourly door prizes each day. Both functional and sculptural pieces will be available from the 44 clay artists.

“The large number of artists participating this year will offer a wider range of high-quality pottery to our show attendees,” said Marilyn Barbe, President of the London Potters Guild. “We believe the variety and quality improves with each sale.”

All the clay artists featured at the show are members of the London Potters Guild. Some members rent studio space and work out of the London Clay Art Centre. “It’s an inspiring place to work” says Marty Slimming, one of the Clay artists participating in the show, “We engage the community in the appreciation and creation of ceramic art and through our new pottery home we express our love for our craft”

“Handmade local pottery makes a wonderful gift,” said Barbe. “Whether it’s for the dinner table, kitchen or home. It’s beautiful. It’s unique. It’s durable. A joy to give or receive.”
