Come tantalize your taste buds with the Gourmet Goddess! During this workshop, we will cover an overview of the basics of Ayurveda, explore the qualities of the most widely used spices central to Indian cooking, and learn how to create an Ayurvedically balanced meal. This class is sure to make your mouth water and your cooking repertoire expand!

Cost: only $35!

Kristen Gilbert:
Kristen’s passion for food has led her to seek the best nourishment possible in many corners of the globe. She has logged over 10 years in the food industry as a chef, bartender and server. Her passion for vegan fine dining was nurtured first at Fresh by Juice for Life in Toronto, then pairing with the inimitable Sjanie McInnis (www.heavymetta.ca) for many catered dinner parties. While living in Hawaii, she was encouraged by friends to continue catering, and ended up with a thriving word-of-mouth business, culminating in a year of employ as Theo Firestone’s full time private chef.

She moved on from there to conquer Los Angeles, feeding many celebrities and earning herself a solid reputation as a gourmet health-foodie. She also had the opportunity to cater many huge events, such as the SAG awards, the Grammys and the Oscars.

Kristen specializes in creating gourmet health food, featuring local West Coast seafood and delectable Comox Valley produce. She also fuses her passion for food and yoga by educating others on the nuances of Ayurveda, and teaching cooking classes and educating students on how to balance their constitutions by using principles from this ancient Indian art of healing.
