In Support of Living
Toronto's electro/indie group In Support of Living create and perform shimmering soundscapes conjuring emotive atmospheric music along the lines of M83, Boards of Canada, Stereolab, My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai, Sigur Ros and Ladytron.
Founding member Brad Ketchen (Hollowphonic) uses guitar, rickety samples, toy keyboards and electronic mixes alongside the instrumentation of bandmates Amy Pagnotta on keys and vox, Dave Capanelli on drums and Calvin Hager on guitar. Within the group, members have performed along side such groups as Los Campesinos, The Junior Boys, Soundtrack of our Lives, A Silver Mt Zion, Super Furry Animals, Low and The Manic Street Preachers.

In Support Of Living certainly took the title of lushest act of the night, with a seven-piece lineup playing over top of some densely arranged samples. If I were to draw more shoegaze parallels, I'd put them alongside late-era Slowdive with a dash of less goth-y 'Cocteau Twins'” Chromewaves.net

Racoon Suit (Edmonton)
Racoon Suit is the electronic, even more self-indulgent side-project of Mikey Maybe, an Edmonton-based indie-rapper also signed to Old Ugly. In an attempt to unlock the secrets of his past and reunite with his wolf-parents, Mikey strip-mines his brain for nostalgia and attempts to communicate all those associated "feelings" with blips, and bits, and bad-ass rap beats. A Nintendo DS usually makes an appearance. The result is Racoon Suit, the sound track to a video game of Mikey's life (an awkward and mostly sexless Windows 95 RPG.)

Exit 2012 (London)
Londons own ambient experimental improv group featuring Cailen Dye
Tim Glasgow Jeremy Hobbs Jeremy Ive and Pete Lebel build layers of noise and progressive melody. Inspired by the moment, they favour improvisation as a means to convey their ideas through music and had the opportunity to play a set with Damo Suzuki at the Electric Eclectics festival last year.
Flora (London)
Flora is the project name of Rob Ross, whose work has been described as melodic electronic music. In 2006, Flora released "We All Lose", a five song EP and subsequently toured Canada and the US. Flora has opened for a number of electronic acts, including vitaminsforyou and Westfalia. He recently released two remix tracks and a Spring DJ mix available through Old Ugly Records (Edmonton). Flora is releasing his second album on Old Ugly Records later this summer. Transplanted by way of Edmonton, Alberta, Ross currently lives in London, Ontario.
