Want to go to a good rock & roll show? Follow these steps:

1. Build a time machine.
2. Set the date for November 22, 2011 (around 8:50 p.m. EST, just so you’re a
little early).
3. Set the destination for Call the Office in London, Ontario.
4. Step out of the time machine.
5. Order a beer and listen to the music.

It’s pretty much that simple. Zeus, with openers More More and Skeletones Four (no,
I didn’t intentionally make that last bit rhyme), made sure that those of us willing to
leave our homes on a cold and rainy night got what we came out for.

More More started us off with a fast-paced set of indie tunes, and they were quickly
followed by the post-punk Skeletones Four. It’s a rare thing to hear a couple of
local bands (well, Skeletones Four are from Guelph, but London can claim them for
just a night, can’t we?) that can round out ragged, jagged guitar riffs into a smooth,
graceful, and melodic stream of songs specifically designed to fill all of those little
niches in the deep recesses of your ears.

And then there was Zeus. While they played quite a few numbers off of their debut
album, Say Us, they were kind enough to grace the audience with a few tunes
scheduled for release on their album coming out in early 2012. The band played an
unbelievably tight set as the members (save the drummer) floated effortlessly from
instrument to instrument, from microphone to microphone. The constant harmony,
the occasional dissonance, the inexorable talent that this band has makes this writer
glad he didn’t decide to hole up at home with a mug of spiked cocoa on what would
have been an otherwise miserable Tuesday night.

If you weren’t there last night, don’t make that mistake again. When Zeus is in the
house, so should you be, too.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Took me long enough to getting around to posting the pictures, but I am glad to see them being enjoyed.

Zeus is definitely one of the better bands I've heard (or haven't heard) this year. If you see this and you've never listened to Say Us, you must pick it up!
