If you take the Richmond underpass between York and Horton, you will see something amazing (or  gross) - baby STALACTITES!

I'm no geologist, but I've seen Planet Earth (how does it get better every time?) enough to know a stalactite when I see one. Formally, stalactites are formed drip-by-drip via the minerals left behind (thanks wikipedia). We saw these babies growing as a result from the rain earlier today - I wonder what mineral/urban grime is causing their existence?

You too can see these if you head to the FCG, the Labatt Store, etc. from downtown - or to downtown from Old South. More photos:

Neat, eh? I would love an educated opinion on these, or more urban exploration posts on tha FUSE!

Gross. Perhaps the Wednesday night bike ride group should take up urban exploration this fall/winter?
