Femmes du Feu

Femmes du Feu is an aerial dance and circus arts performance company based in Toronto, Canada, run by co-artistic directors Sabrina Pringle and Holly Treddenick. Founded in 2003, the company’s ambition is to develop, explore and promote aerial dance.
Aerial dance is a genre that combines the breathtaking, skillful and exciting tradition of aerial circus skills, such as trapeze and silks, with the human quality and intimacy of contemporary dance. As a branch of contemporary circus pioneered by Cirque du Soliel, aerial dance has become a distinctly Canadian art form. Now small companies such as Femmes du Feu and other aerial dance companies in Toronto and Canada can work towards carving out an identity in the global arts scene.

Femmes du Feu have over 10 years of teaching experience in dance, yoga and aerial dance. Sabrina was Holly's first aerial teacher nearly 5 years ago and continues to teach aerial silks regularly in Toronto.

Femmes du Feu creates work that blurs the edge between circus and contemporary dance. Last year Femmes du Feu created and produced their first full-length aerial dance show, Head First, for the London, Toronto and Hamilton Fringe Festivals. Head First was extremely well received and won Patron’s Pick and Best of Fringe in Toronto. This summer Femmes du Feu are touring their new show, The Plank to the London, Toronto and Winnipeg Fringe Festivals.
