CBC launches a new online music service in a bold attempt to offer a broad range of music to Canadians. CBC Music features a streaming music player with access to a wide array of music along with CBC's radio content. Littered with music content, the website also includes interviews with bands as well as artist profiles. I even caught a Q&A article with Carrie Brownstein (of Portlandia fame).

Although the new music service has many similarities to CBC Radio 3, CBC's existing online music service which highlights (mostly indie) Canadian bands, CBC Music appears to be broader shift into the sphear of online music listening. Right off the bat you'll notice links labelled Jeon Gomeshi's Q and George Stroumboulopoulos' Strombo in the website's main navigation. Highlighting their biggest music personalities, along with all of their flagship radio stations, signals that CBC Muisc aims to have a broader appeal than its online sibling.

There's no question that this is the all encompassing online CBC music service. The question remains whether the website will draw Internet user's attention away from other online music services.
